I remember the days where my family would do daytrip and weekend trips to cities and towns. We didn't have much money, so often we'd drive to our destination. One of the memories that I hold closes to my heart were driving through the rolling country side, watching pastures pass by. When this memory comes up, the song "Colours of the Wind" always comes to mind as I had the Pocahontas CD with me on one trip.
Another memory is lying on my back in the backseat of the car, watching the stars in the sky. I remember how clear the nights were and how I could recognize the stars of the big dipper. Maybe this is why it is so soothing for me to drive at night long distances away from the city nights. Reminds me of a more care-free time in my life.

The worse days in college were the ones where I stayed up late cramming for midterms and exams and assignments. There was once where I didn't start an assignment worth 10% of my final grade until the evening before. I didn't go to bed until 6AM. Looking back it would have been an absolute disaster if I had not been able to complete it.

One time when I was young the local movie theatre was giving out free tickets to "The Sandlot". Although we didn't have tickets, my mom brought me and my sister to the theatre anyway. For what reason, I didn't know cause I knew we didn't have any tickets. With pure luck, when we had arrived, there was a man giving away tickets cause he couldn't go. Lucky us! I wonder if my mom knew that was going to happen. Even though they were free, it was really nice of the stranger.

"Full House" was the best TV show! I remember watching the last episode and clapping with the audience. I saw it again last year and I never realized as a kid how cheezy it really was!

Junior high, Justine. Biggest crush ever. I'd make a fool out of myself doing things for her. She signed my yearbook "See you in Sept. Luv Justine" and I was on cloud 9. lol I was such a dork.

There were these old-style street lamps on our street. One time, us kids were playing around it and suddenly it came crashing down into the middle of the street. We all dispersed and got the hell outta there cause none of us wanted to be blamed for it.

In my first year of junior high, we had a high school dance. There was this girl that I had a huge crush on. She was there. A couple slow songs came on and finally I had the balls to go up and ask her to dance. I got denied. Still not feeling totally shot down, I asked her again for the shortest and probably lamest song in the world, the 'I love you song' from Barney the purple dinosaur. Again, turned away.... sigh. Oh well. I never asked her again to dance at any other dances after that.
