Living it up in the British Indian Ocean Territory. I believe that our pasts experience shapes the character of who we are today.

There are some friendships that only happens and stays online. Their virtual personality is completely different from reality. Why can't it be the same for both realms?

My dad was studying in England when my mom was pregnant with me. On a late Saturday evening my mom went into labor. However, my parents did not own a phone as it was too expensive back then and so my dad rushed out to find a telephone. (my parents were given a number to call for the doctor and the ambulance would come pick us up) He went in search of a pay phone on the street and came to one until he remembered he had no money on him. However, a bar was open and so he rushed right in. My dad is a very small man and is not a drinker at all, so you can imagine the look on the biker's faces when he went in. A very nice man gave my dad some coins to use the pay phone.

To this day my dad never lets me forget the random act of kindness this gentleman did for me. Who knows where I would have been born!

When I was in grade 5 I was introduced to the world of soaps by my brother. He watched Days of Our Lives endlessly during the summer and that's when I was hooked on it too! My love affair with Days lasted til my high school days. Absolutely love it still, the show just never gets old!

In the bedroom is where all my dirty socks lies on the floor.

At the age of 2 my love for the TV set was incontrollable. It was then where I decided to express my gratefulness by climbing and hugging the TV. Unfortunately, this TV had its mine of its own and decided to fall forward as I was wrapped around it. I was rushed to the hospital with only a bleeding nose. But I will never forget this incident that crushed me the most!

I await to dance with my father on my wedding day. That dance will be saved for him.

My grandfather didn't do much. He'd stay at home most of the time. My mother says he would get lost had he gone to the mall by himself, which was only a block away. Most of the time I'd wonder if he would like to go out and play. Several years later my grandfather moved back to his country to live with my aunt. Whenever we talked on the phone, he would always remind me about the day he walked me to my kindergarden class. He always said, "did you let anyone bud you in line in class today?" That was our little inside joke. Although he's no longer here, I will always remember the day he walked me to my kindergarden class.

My jersey number was in memory of him.

I used to always hang out with my neighbor when we were young, even though we didn't go to the same elementary school. One day we were on a hunt for a rock for her project. We went about 10 houses down the street and came to this beautiful garden with lots of good rocks for her project. Since the lady who lived there had lots of rocks, she surely could spare one for a young child's project. Although I would have just taken it and went on my way, my friend caught me by surprise by knocking on the lady's door and asking if she could take one! At such a young age, her integrity and respect for people's property is something I'll never forget.

Back in grade 1 my mom would pick me up for lunch, but she would always be late. I would get embarassed waiting at the school drop off spot for such a long time, so I would slowly inch down the road to the end of the block. I had hoped if I was closer to the end of the block, my mom would find me faster and would not see anyone from the school staring at me. One time the postman caught me and brought me back to school so that I could be safe.
